I know these spoons are for teething babies; However, I bought them for my 87 year old mother-in-law. She has health issues we feed her for and recently she has been refusing the spoon. I was afraid it might damage her teeth. I tried a plastic spoon but it broke on the first bite and I didn't want to risk getting any sharp edges or splinters in my mouth. I decided to try this option and it was wonderful. The only downside is that the spoon is a little deeper than usual, so it's a little harder for her to reach all the food. This seems to be a small factor in all the benefits. I no longer have to worry about her chewing on the spoon.
