WHAT IS NOT IN THE DESCRIPTION!

The description doesn't say you need to cut a slot about 3/8" wide and about 2 1/2" long in your existing stage/nerf bar for the hook area at the top of that stage Brackets to Entering this slot will not cut into the top of the bar, but rather from the back of the bar at a 35 degree angle. If your existing handlebars have a rubber tread that you step on, this will interfere with the installation of these steps. You need to adjust the tread to these steps. As another buyer commented, the best way to install these steps is to bolt or weld them. We cannot remove our existing kickboards to have them professionally installed. So we thought about cutting off a hook at the top of the step bracket so we can install it. Once the hook area is removed from the top of the step bracket, determine where on the existing plank you want to install it. Mark where you need to drill holes in the top of the bracket. Heading first, drill a 3/8" to 1/2" hole through the top of the brackets that wrap around the existing step rod. Once you have drilled holes on each side of the brackets, place them back onto the existing bars, mark the location of the holes on the bar and drill the hole(s) all the way through the step bar. Purchase the correct length and size screws (we used 4 inch screws), use washers, lock washers and compression nuts to secure the step. This method worked well for us when we installed it on our existing kickboards. If your truck isn't high off the ground, a 3-inch drop works best. I ordered these 6" steps and would like to order 3" steps instead. The top of my existing footpeg was 6 inches below the door, and then lowering it 6 inches gave me 6 inches of ground clearance. Something to think about when ordering. Aside from not being easy to install, these steps are well done and work fine once you can install them.
