My wife likes to take photos of our parents from the previous year - mostly at Christmas. she carefully goes through the thousands of photos we have taken, arranges and sorts them for clarity, colour, size and usability, dates them and finally wants to send them out. Now, when she was just starting out, a few CDs would suffice, but with the advent of digital photography and the advent of our daughter, our photos have become very expensive. While much revolves around us, our excursions, and the occasional silly thing (hence the filtering), we'd like to share a year. So we have up to 100 GB of photos (more or less every year). Yes, thousands of photos, videos etc. are posted there and sent to the grandparents. they work fine for something like that. They are small enough to be portable but not so small that they get lost in the package. My wife labels everything so there is plenty of room to label. I hope we settle for 128GB for a while. Our kid passed the cute schoolboy and became a restless teenager, but now there are more cat pictures to help balance that out a bit more. Camera resolutions are increasing, as are image sizes, but the cost of USB flash drives is decreasing.
