Real USB 3.1 flash drive 128G and fast

Tested both flash drives in the package with f3probe (Linux). Both discs have been verified as authentic. Free space is about average for 128GB drives (about 5GB less than some much more expensive brands). Reformatted the partition as ext4 and put about 93GB encrypted compressed files on it. It's only slightly slower than my fastest USB 3 flash drives, nicely built, and with an increasingly sparse, highly visible activity indicator at the end. I'm very satisfied. For comparison, I have 3…

Device read/write error near end of memory

I tested these flash drives using the Flash Check utility (chkflsh.exe) and then verified that whether there are addresses The disk returns the same data when read. These drives showed errors near the "far end" of the memory, which is sometimes a sign of a QC error. This means the drive looks fine at first, but once you start using the full range of drives (which will be after 128GB writes) you are vulnerable. Unfortunately, more and more "cheap" flash drives are exhibiting this behavior and it

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Available in black color only

Roll the dice. One works, one doesn't (Wish I bought something else)

FIRST: I'd have to be pissed to give a 1 star review for a $28 item. So there's a clear indication that this didn't work out as planned. This set contains 2 brand new USB sticks. One of them worked fine for a while, but now it only works with some USB ports on the computer (2 ports out of 6 work). The other doesn't work at all. causing the computer to freeze randomly? I assume the computer is trying to read this or something, but it's causing my computer to lag every 1/2 second or so, and it's…

Biggest memory for the price I could find

My new Smart TV has two USB ports for playing videos and films. I was looking for two inexpensive USB sticks that I could load home videos and other video content onto so I could watch them off my TV when needed. After a long search, I decided on this set of two USB sticks. They offered the most storage for the price I could find. They're fast enough to deliver 4K video without frame drops. I can store about 100 videos at a time. I had no problem writing to them and reading from them. I…

Good price but poor performance

As a previous owner of the B20 which is not available today I was hoping that the performance of this B02 would match the B20. Well, not even close. Please note that it gets 3 stars because of the capacity price. So if you don't care about read/write speeds, this is a great USB drive. However, I was hoping for pole performance with the B20, so I was disappointed. I hope Silicon Power will bring back the B20 model soon and make it competitive with other well-known brands. Note that the…

5 USB 3.0 64GB for less than $22

I bought these because I wanted to use one to send videos to my daughter and the other to my mother, but they were packaged like the picture , so what's a guy to do? Seriously, I'm happy with the durability, looks and functionality of these sticks. I tested two of them with FlashBench (see figure). The best read speeds were around 60 MB/s and the highest write speeds were around 20 MB/s. I tested another 64GB USB 3 drive from perhaps the most popular SSD manufacturer and saw 142MB/s read and…

  • Excellent overall performance

Misleading and Bred!

Wanted to create a bootable installation/recovery USB drive for my Windows 10 PC using the "new" Windows 10 1093 ISO. My Media Creation Tool does not "recognize" B02 as an available USB. I used file explorer and found that the B02 has a CD drive behind the scenes; Also, I noticed that B02 has an SP service directory with files to activate the warranty. Both are NOT listed in the product description. If you see a "128GB" advertisement, you would expect it to mean 128GB of storage space…

Photos - Photos for

My wife likes to take photos of our parents from the previous year - mostly at Christmas. she carefully goes through the thousands of photos we have taken, arranges and sorts them for clarity, colour, size and usability, dates them and finally wants to send them out. Now, when she was just starting out, a few CDs would suffice, but with the advent of digital photography and the advent of our daughter, our photos have become very expensive. While much revolves around us, our excursions, and the…

Doesn't live up to even the lowest expectations

This is not my first purchase of Silicon Power memory; I've had one of their SSDs for about five years and although it's completely dark it works perfectly. I had very reasonable expectations for these discs in my opinion. They are "almost" unbelievably cheap. At this price point, if it's real (for a given value of "reality"), they are clearly made with the worst quality flash the company can find - QC rejects rejected Tier 3 OEMs if they are not used parts recovered from decommissioned…
