I have had this waffle maker for a little over a year. For the price it was worth the investment! This makes the best waffles! They have a nice, slightly crunchy outside and a deliciously fluffy inside. As with any new waffle maker, I had to learn something to get the right amount of batter and figure out how to do it. After much trial and error I found that a slightly smaller cup of batter is ideal, and after it's poured it's best to spread it out so that it evenly reaches the edges. We use this to make waffles in 3 batches at a time so we can freeze leftovers. There's no sound to indicate when it's done, but I've found that turning on the light makes an audible click, enough for you to easily get on with other kitchen chores while you wait for them to cook. Even if I miss turning on the light, I never overcook waffles! Actually, I'm thinking of the second one just to speed up the cooking process. It's definitely worth the money considering how cheap it is! My only complaint with my particular machine is that the green light on top is not working and has never worked. I understand there will always be manufacturer errors and as the bottom light still works I never found it annoying to send it in for a replacement.
