So Far So Good in Cotton

A few days ago I received cotton and a cot. I opened up the craft size and was surprised at how soft and fluffy it is. This is no ordinary hitting, these are apparently handcrafted Amish. I very carefully and carefully unfolded one piece and hung it on the ironing board to give it time to relax before I started working on it. I rolled it onto my pool noodles yesterday in preparation for layering and again went easy on it. Today I put together my quilted tapestry sandwich that I make with 505 spray. I've looked at the recommended stitch spacing and it recommends 1 inch spacing for stitches, but since this is a panel tapestry I don't think I need to be that close. I'll update this review as needed after I've completed this project, but so far I haven't found any issues with it. As said, peeling is still minimal and easy to remove with a sticky roller. If it works I'll keep using it for sundries, if not I'll grind it up and use it to stuff pillows and toys. Either way it's a good buy and I like it a lot more than the fiberfill.

Pros
  • WARNING: Approximately 1/4 inch thick, standard cotton thickness. If you need extra thick cotton, please don't buy it. This cotton is thin. If your project needs to be filled with thick batting, you can stack two layers of batting on top of each other. No prewash. Can be machine washed after quilting.
Cons
  • Slightly crumpled
