These LED blocks are very very bright and a major improvement for backlighting over any incandescent bulbs I've ever used. They are definitely too bright for indoor use, but they are not intended for that either. It's nice to have reverse lights, which are easy to see for others, but also help me see when reversing when it's dark outside. The original bulbs turned out to be pretty much useless as they gave off enough light to illuminate the path behind the car. My car doesn't have a backup camera, but if it does, I can guarantee you that what it can "see" when it's dark outside improves significantly.
