Car maintenance can be expensive, especially as your income falls and your car ages. As luck would have it (or not), both apply to me. While there are some things I can do about my car to save money, there are other things I can't do. Replacing a headlight bulb is one of them. Even though my car is 11, almost 12 years old; The dealer I get it from is friendly and professional and works with me when it comes to maintenance. The last service advisor amazed me! But they cannot control the cost of labor and parts. Replacing that bulb and labor would normally cost me $65. Not feasible. The labor was also too expensive. I still had this pack when I was planning to change the lightbulb last year; but since I couldn't (unfortunately) afford to replace it. Enter my friendly (and hilarious) service advisor. I installed it at my last oil change for 0€. And I am VERY grateful to him for that. Since I left it at home and had to go back, he joked that it would take 48 minutes to install. It was a reference to my favorite NASCAR driver Jimmie Johnson at number 48. He liked and liked another (retired) driver I happened to meet one day. Definitely… As it turned out, the installation took 30-45 minutes. I was out the door and on my way. Not being an installer I can't rate it personally but the wait wasn't too long so I'm satisfied. the best part) and no complaints about the installation. I'm sure it's a fairly easy setup for someone well equipped to do it outside of the dealership. The bulbs last a long time, although my right side burns out more than the left (almost certain it's bad wire). This is the second replacement since I've had the car (new in 2008). The left side is still OEM. Only three bulbs in 11-12 years? I won't get too excited. I'm very happy with it and have one left.
