These little shelves are smart. Not sure what I will use them for, maybe the notebooks and pencils that always get lost on my desk. Definitely no drinks! They seem strong enough to hold light objects. Setup was fairly easy, although it takes a bit of coordination to get the legs in the right position and then turn the thumbscrews. My desktop monitor has a "stylish" curved back so the tray "doesn't fit" when I slide it sideways to a new position. This is easily fixed with a piece of tape. I appreciate the little "lip" on the back of the tray to keep things from sliding off.
