For those of us with outdated Pushmatic switch panels, these switches are one of the few replacement or upgrade options aside from the costly replacement of the entire panel with a new one. Large department stores and even electricity wholesalers rarely sell Pushmatic circuit breakers. These double pole models, which double the possible connections in each switch position, should be a direct replacement for the original single pole switches, but will need modification to fit most panels. The small metal plate (shown in my photos) must be sanded or removed BEFORE this breaker will fit. Otherwise, the metal plate will prevent the circuit breaker from being fully installed and attached (bolted) to the power rail. After the change was made, these switches worked fine for me. Unlike the original ITE circuit breakers, which had tiny windows that were difficult to read, they display a red label to indicate when they are off. They worked for me, but the inconvenience of having to change them before installing cost them one star.
