I installed this in a UTV for a GMRS radio that is top mounted. Due to bumpy trails, the standard mic holder will not hold the mic. I attached it to the roll bar and the mic doesn't interfere until you need it. This allows you to quickly lower the mic and retract quickly. It is ideal for off-road use.
