I was looking for a jack that could safely withstand very heavy loads to attach to the foundation. We lift a very large weight and I bought 10 of these to work as a deep redundant system to safely lift and level the structure. This is exactly what I wanted as they can safely stow large loads. Piston jacks can fail under your load, causing the structure to suddenly fall down or suddenly loading other jacks, which can lead to what is known as a cascade rupture. Mechanical jacks are the answer because they cannot fail spontaneously, let alone the metal itself. However, most mechanical jacks are prohibitively expensive. May fail under load, causing the structure to fall violently, or other jacks suddenly lose weight, causing cascading failure. These are incredibly heavy, insidious, Chinese mechanical jacks. Well I'd rather buy American made products because I trust steel more, or even Canada they turned out to be a good buy. We will be using them heavily in the summer, I will update this review if there is anything to add. But so far we have been very satisfied.
