Here's some interesting information the gaming community should know about this mouse, from someone who knows a little too much about gaming mice (and has partnerships with laser and optical sensor companies). First off, those "cheap Chinese mice" that get rebranded as MSI, Logitech, and the like are actually the same internals. It really comes down to having treats inside. A mouse is a very basic peripheral that can be broken down into several categories, which I'll cover separately. Switch, Sensor, Driver, Shape, Aesthetics and more. Switch. This mouse uses very good Omron switches. When it comes to quality switches with a long lifespan, Omron is pretty much king. Omron makes both industrial switches and really powerful switches that are used in gaming mice, for example. These switches have very high actuation accuracy, which means the force required to press and actuate the switch is very precise. It also means these mice will survive many games, whether you're playing FPS or pushing the limits with a game like Torchlight. Sensor: There are two reigning champions in Sensors. Avago and Phillips. Avago makes incredibly good optical sensors and Philips is best known for their dual laser sensors. Both make really great sensors. This mouse features the highest DPI Avago sensor yet, meaning you can push the DPI to insane levels and get incredibly accurate tracking. For things like FPS this is very important. I want to say that not everyone needs this high DPI. It's just nice to have such a cheap mouse. Drivers: Some mice don't have drivers. In fact, most mice are simple HID (Human Interface Devices) devices and never receive anything other than a generic driver. So why a whole section for drivers? Well, that's really important on a mouse with tons of buttons. These buttons must be programmed, and it matters whether they are programmed on a mouse or on a computer. Redragon was good enough to have built in memory in the mouse so once I set it up I could plug this mouse into any computer, hook it up as an HID and use it with all my profiles without having to install a driver. Well! The drivers themselves are really good, installed quickly, save profiles with one click, save externally, many configuration options. It will be very well thought out. The mouse's RGB lighting can be customized by the user, custom DPI modes can be set, each mouse button can be mapped to something else. Overall they did a great job and I don't have a single complaint about the driver shape: the mouse itself is very ergonomic, whether you use your palm or your claws like me. The side buttons are very conveniently arranged. For the claw grip, I usually just press the two bottom side buttons, with the top one being reserved for some other action that I don't want to accidentally perform. When you hold your palm, the middle button is in line with the ball of your thumb and you have full access to all buttons. The entire mouse is covered in a beautifully textured polymer that provides excellent grip. There is also more feedback when I touch the button as opposed to the rest of the mouse as they have different textures. The adjustable weights are a very nice touch. I prefer my mouse to be a little lighter so I only have 3 weights. Someone who prefers a heavier mouse or is used to a wireless mouse might want to use all the weights. This mouse also has side rests for my ring and pinky fingers which I hope will become more popular. My last mouse had it too and I'm glad I still have one with this shape. I'm hoping there's a left-handed version of this mouse, but for those who are definitely right-handed, it's nice to have a mouse that fits my hand for extended use. Aesthetics: I love this little mouse. Red is a nice touch because it adds a pop of color. The ability to change the color of the central breathing light is also very handy for marking special profiles. The mouse wheel changes color according to profiles, the up and down arrows change color with DPI switches, and overall I really like the look of this mouse. I've never been a big fan of some mice, namely the RAT and some Razer mice, but this one is actually a nice touch on my desk. It also has a red braided cord that brings some color to my computer. Miscellaneous: There are some things that don't fit into the other categories, so they fall under the Miscellaneous category! The USB plug is a bit big. It sticks out quite a bit when connected to a laptop, but it's nice that it doesn't break and is easy to remove. As already mentioned, the cable is braided, which is very nice. This is not a detachable cable. Some people call this a scam, I consider it a huge plus because I never want my cable to break mid-game. Redragon was kind enough to send replacement Teflon mouse feet because they expect you to play hard and wear them down. 18 month warranty which is unusual. It's neither long nor short, just an unusual year and a half. They make other mice too! If you are looking for mice, check out the others, you might find one that suits you best. I actually bought two mice from them because they serve two purposes. One mouse for MMO and one for FPS. Overall, I couldn't be happier with this find. I highly recommend these and their other mice because they are really well made and well thought out.
