Nomex itself is a good product that withstands high temperatures and blocks smoke exit from the working chamber. However, the "LavaLock" adhesive used on the back of the Nomex strips is a terrible product. The glue was so non-tacky that it easily fell off my finger like it was never there. It has a very flimsy grip and I wouldn't trust it to last a few days let alone the years it is expected to last. It's worse than almost any other glue I can think of. About the same stickiness as wet pasta, if any. I advise you to buy some high temp RTV silicone to glue to the grill. Avoid the overpriced "BBQ" rebranded products and just buy the high quality Permatex Red RTV silicone used to make all kinds of seals; if you like fair prices, that is.
