Is it real on my review.

Yes, it appears to be a real skin. What kind, I can't say. I did a burn test to verify that is real fur because the hide seems to be thin. I'm not a hide expert so I don't know how thin it should be . I recommend placing it under your sheet to keep it from rolling or bunching when you move in bed. I like it. I wish I had a while mattress pad made of it, but that would be the size of a buffalo.
