Very happy with this functional shelf. I already had a tripod so I saved some money. The transition screw works. I added a large washer between the tray of my detachable tripod mount to fill the small gap. Admittedly, my rig is a little more wobbly than I would have liked, but that's due to the tripod, which was only meant for holding the camera. I can definitely recommend the spiral.
