My wife now calls me a water bottle snob. She noticed that we now have several different glass and stainless steel water bottles and I keep switching to a different one. However, I will probably continue to use it for a while. For now, this is the most ideal compromise of what is. What I like about a drinking bottle: capacity without volume, plastic-free materials, insulation value, easy handling, easy cleaning. How does this product suit my needs: I like the materials used, only metal and glass (parts in contact with the liquid). Stainless steel lid with silicone seal. The bottle is made of glass with a silicone grip around it. No plastic. It's thin enough to fit in my car's cup holder but still holds a decent amount of liquid. It's easy to fill - the mouth isn't too narrow (although I'd like it to be a bit wider). I can add ice cubes from my ice maker, but I have to add them one at a time, which can be annoying. Very easy to clean with a bottle brush. Why this product does not meet my requirements: The materials used have a very low insulating capacity. I prefer double-walled stainless steel vacuum alternatives, but they tend to be very bulky and have a wider size-to-capacity ratio. So they don't fit in the cup holders of the capacity I prefer. Clip and strap are mediocre. They're good, but I could do without them. The chain mail sometimes twists on its own. I can substitute a more masculine material like paracord.
