A very solid and sturdy unit for switching. Made of metal, not plastic, and has the feel of a quality product.Some may say that the metal is overkill, but I don't think so. The metal box is solid and provides electrical shielding for the signals passing through it. This is always a good thing.Be aware that all the outer conductors (the shield or ground) are connected together at all times. Only the center conductors are switched. This is usually OK, but some gear may not like to have the ground connections at the same electrical level as another piece of gear, and could cause humming or a buzz that is not a fault of this switcher.It works well on a desktop or shelf. Since the controls are on the top and connections on the rear, it can't really be used unless it's on a surface that is open on the top.The "volume" control is just an attenuator and only lowers the output signal. It provides no amplification, and should be left all the way up all the time, unless you need to control the level to an amp that has no level control on it.Overall, this is a solid, handy device for a system, to switch up to 6 inputs to an amp or other part of your stereo system, expanding the usefulness. The price is a bit high for what it does, but it's well made out of shielding metal and very compact. It comes with one stereo RCA cable.
