(Disclaimer: I had previously ordered a Prosumer 3-Port HDMI Switch so I was asked to try this unit.) This unit helped me find the perfect media to create setup and solution for the problem I didn't even know existed. I work from home and use my TV as a monitor and have done so for many years. I am also an avid gamer. I like to listen to media files (regardless of the source) through a surround sound system or high quality headphones whenever I feel like it. I used my speaker system as a receiver, switched inputs from Xbox to PC, etc. Here is my setup: TVSatellite tunerSurround systemPC - WindowsPC - UbuntuXboxTurtle Beach wireless headset (powered by optical cable, microphone permanently connected to Xbox) which all my devices can do primarily work through my Xbox so I can get great wireless audio through my headphones. Because the Xbox only has one HDMI input (everything that goes there is shown in the OneGuide app) and one HDMI output, I was able to connect all other HDMI devices to the HDMI switcher and then a single HDMI cable from the switcher to the Xbox. The Xbox then connects to my surround sound system and outputs optical audio to my headphones. My surround sound system then outputs the audio to the TV. I know this is a lot, and I literally had to draw a little flowchart to figure out how to connect everything, but I end up typing this on a PC running the OneGuide app. on my Xbox (so when I get Xbox notifications, they pop up on my screen) and I can always mute my surround sound system and get PC audio through my headphones. I can do anything with a small HDMI switch added to my setup. TL; DR - If you have multiple HDMI sources and want them all to work through your Xbox, this device makes it easy.
