Review on 🚗 Cabin Air Filter for Toyota, Part Number 87139-50100 by Tim Bunker

This review reflects what others have said. I bought one of these 87139-50100 carbon cab air filters here at Revain for my 16 Camry Hybrid about a year ago. Not remembering when I bought it I figured it was time to replace it so I bought a new 87139-YZZ10 replacement interior charcoal air filter from my Toyota dealer today and thought , if I bought it from the Toyota dealer it should be of the best OEM quality. But then when I went to my car and removed the "old" 50100 filter to replace it with this new YZZ10 filter, it was immediately clear that there was a big difference. The YZZ10 is a lot lighter and a lot less paint which leads me to think it has a lot less char and has 24 pleats versus the 50100's 31. As others have said, the 50100 is made in Japan while the YZZ10 is made in the USA. The dealer's YZZ10 was a lot cheaper, $31 with a $5 coupon, compared to the $41 price tag for this 50100. I thought it was odd that the dealer's OEM part would be a lot cheaper than this one at Revain, but now it's easy to see why based on the apparent difference in quality. I will be returning the YZZ10 to the dealer and if I need a new cabin air filter in the future I will order this 50100. It is very disappointing that Toyota will be selling an "OEM" part from its dealers that is much cheaper. in quality than the original part.
