🚗 Cabin Air Filter for Toyota, Part Number 87139-50100 Review

After owning my car for 5 years I finally found this one. I used to buy an American from a local dealer and it wasn't great. It's a bit pricey but worth it. And it's charcoal, which means it filters dust and odors.

Purchased to replace the filter in a 2013 Toyota Rav4. Exact installation and identity of the filter to be replaced. The part number for this new filter that I received was 87139-50100. Simple and hassle-free replacement for the original OEM. Bought from the "Dispatched and sold by Revain.com" list.

I like this updated genuine Toyota filter because I am allergic and very sensitive to certain pollen. I've driven through 3 different states with very high levels of pollen that have each time triggered allergies, but that was quickly taken care of once I got in the car with filtered air.

This filter, 87139-50100 is the correct filter replacement for our 2019 Highlander Hybrid and was a direct replacement. The product is clearly superior to the alternative 87139-yzz10 with 7 fewer folds and significantly lower weight. The Toyota dealer has tried to say that the yzz10 is equivalent, but it definitely isn't. The photos alongside say otherwise - yzz10 on the left and 50100 on the right.

My filter came from North Park Toyota in original Toyota/Lexus packaging. It seemed heavy on the filter so I decided to just weigh the filter and it ended up weighing 5.35 ounces. I removed an existing dirty Purolator filter and it weighed 2.1 ounces. The genuine Toyota filter contains at least 3 ounces of activated carbon and is an integral part of the filter paper, not just sprayed on it. I would say it's worth getting a genuine Toyota filter.

This part is a genuine OEM filter for Toyota and Lexus vehicles and is made in Japan. These filters are the best and have charcoal in them. This is the same size as 87139-YZZ10 (charcoal, made in the USA, fewer wrinkles as many other reviews have noted) and 87139-YZZ20. I'm giving four stars because of the price. I chose this air filter after carefully researching various filters sold by Toyota/Lexus. This is by far the highest quality offering that comes standard on the Lexus LS460 and the size and shape are perfect for my 2011 Toyota Prius with OEM Sharp Plasmacluster Ionization.
