I was keen to install an air purification system in my car as an added safety feature when driving Uber/Lyft during the COVID-19 pandemic. This system is definitely at the top of the spectrum, but I always say you can't put a price tag on a piece of mind. It came in premium packaging and looks like cool technology. I opened it up to look inside and instead of a traditional filter it has plates that you need to clean from time to time to keep it working effectively. Love the idea that you don't have to buy filters and there is an indicator light to let you know when to clean them. There's not much digging to do, you just mount it on your dash or center console (I'm putting mines here because my dash is already pretty cluttered) and hook it up to your car's power supply. You can put it into manual mode and choose one of three air speeds, or put it into automatic mode, which allows the device to determine when to operate while driving. At the lowest speeds you can barely tell it's on, but at the highest speeds you can definitely hear the fans making a quiet hum. I left it on automatic because I didn't want to proceed with the manual setup and there seems to be mixed results. Sometimes I found that it didn't work for a long time, while sometimes it worked at full capacity. The incoming air was rather weak for a facility of this size and had an unusual, half-burned smell. I don't know if this is a way to kill airborne contaminants, but after running it in my car for a few weeks I didn't notice any noticeable difference compared to when I had nothing at all. There is nothing in the kit to attach it to a surface. It has four textured legs with little grip to stay steady for a relaxed ride. If you suddenly have to stop (which is often the case with ridesharing), be prepared for your device to fly unless you invest in something to protect your device. Seems to be a small but significant oversight that would be easy to fix for the asking price of this device. In the end I decide to return this device and look for another solution as it doesn't suit me at all. If you have space on your dashboard and something to protect it with, you might have a better experience than me. I cannot recommend this device as a whole, because for this money there was simply not enough consideration. Pros Looks cool No filters to buy Cons Cons Expensive Slightly clunky (always gets in the way) Really don't feel a measurable difference Auto mode doesn't always turn on or doesn't filter the air enough Produced air is often hot and has some funny smell Nothing included to keep it in place (hence it often breaks down)
