Review on πŸ“‘ MMDVM Duplex Hotspot Module Dual Hat with OLED Display V1.47 - Supports P25, DMR, YSF, NXDN - Raspberry Pi Compatible (with OLED) by William Wiley

Revainrating 2 out of 5

If you can get it to work, it hardly works.

I am done with the fact that Revain cannot guarantee that reviews are not genuine. "Verified Customer" means nothing these days. This mmdvm board might work, but again it might not work. Quickly returning the first to the second in the process, hoping that this is an improvement and that I'm just "bad". However, the advertised phrase "every sample tested" doesn't hold water for me. The audio output on the board that I received (DMR decoded) sounds like digital breathing underwater. It is incomprehensible to put it mildly. A random word will slip, but the distortion this board introduces in the digital signal is unacceptable. The phrase "Tx=0, Rx=0" is also false advertising. I had to set offsets almost to the thousandth mark for the board to at least work. Again, I'm hoping I "just got a bad one" from the group, but it looks like more and more Chinese products are going down this route. Instead of being unlucky enough to find ONE in a THOUSAND bad items, consider yourself lucky to get the ONE in a THOUSAND that was the most good. (roll the eyes). Let's see, just this week I received two Chinese goods, both have been returned or have been returned. It looks like a template. Revenge? Everyone? Think we could start holding sellers accountable?

Pros
  • Sleek and modern design
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled
