Review on Durable and Cushioned Women's Hiking/Trekking Socks by Darn Tough by Marfel Fekete

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Rescue for delicate feet!

I love them! Not my first pair of Darn Toughs, I bought them specifically to import new documents. I am very prone to blistering and bruising on my feet and have very thin skin on my heels; I was NOT hoping to break that thick skin. Imagine the princess and the pea, but with every pair of shoes. Ouch. I've had a bit of sore skin on my heels since I first put my boots on, but all I had to do was put band-aids on and those wonderful socks and boom, no more pain! Nice and thick padding, my only regret is that I bought the socks after the boots and not the other way around as I sure could have avoided the raw leather if I had worn these socks from the start. I don't use them to break in my boots, I just wear them around the house. They are very warm and my feet are always cold. I'm thinking of buying a size or two bigger and using them as slippers. I also found that they compress my ankles well. They're not designed or advertised as compression, but I thought I'd mention it anyway. Like my feet, my ankles are pretty prone to injury and I practically turn them over at least every few days. As you can imagine, this means they often hurt and swell, but less so when I'm wearing these socks. Good enough for me!

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Not the best
