Suitable for measuring size. Not suitable for clamping rings. I used this with pure silver and beat the crap out of it. Worked but damaged the mandrel. However, I can still use it to stretch rings. Also note that when trying to resize the ring if hammered too hard without flipping the ring, the ring will narrow to the point where a hole is narrower on one side. In this case, it is almost impossible to bring the ring back into a symmetrical shape. As it slowly tapers from smaller to larger, getting a ring from a size 5 to a size 8 is almost impossible. You can go up half a size without realizing it.
