ALWAYS testicle stretch first. I found it helpful to inflate them slightly, then deflate and stretch. I used to put a balloon in and found that the second balloon helps keep the air in and ties them together. I had severe hand cramps while using the hand pump so I would recommend doing some exercise each day before your event or getting an electric pump and a couple of extra hands to help. When using an electric pump, the portable pump used to inflate mattresses may not be powerful enough. It's great if you have patience and some strength. At Disney we paid $24 for 2 balloons in clear balloons and for about the same price I made $18 myself for my son's birthday party. I didn't use helium although I attached them to balloon sticks.
