I needed a new shoe for walking and skipping, so I looked for shoes with cushioning. I figured the Nike Air Max would work for this. When I put them on for the first time I found them comfortable. You are definitely more comfortable with thinner socks. Tried jumping rope and thought it absorbed the impact and provided enough cushioning. The only issue I had was the laces kept coming undone. I had to tie them with a double knot. I also tried running in it. They are ok but I think I will look for another brand of hiking shoes to replace my current ones. But they are so cute that I only use them for carrying and whatnot. So I will use them for relaxing and jumping rope. One minus star for the laces, but at least it's easy to fix.
