I always watch a lot of YT videos to learn how to replace this cartridge. I would like to take some photos to document the installation. Also, read lots of comments for good hints. Very helpful. After I switched the spout to a convertible tub, I wanted to change the shower cartridge. I couldn't get the handle out. It doesn't look like it's ever been changed. Be sure to use silicone grease. After pulling out the old cartridge, I cleaned and oiled the chamber that holds the cartridge. When I tried to put a new cartridge in, it didn't go all the way in where I could tighten the lock nut. When I pulled it back out, I saw the o-ring that was left over from the old cartridge. Good thing I couldn't tighten the lock nut. Otherwise I would have a big leak I didn't know about. I remember watching a video where a guy said to make sure nothing was left in the cell. Take a flashlight and shine it inside. I forgot this tip. After removing the old o-ring, I relubricated the chamber and put the new cartridge in with no problems. I haven't installed the overlay yet. I screwed the pen back onto the cartridge and did a test run with water. Rotate left to right, press and pull several times. Look for signs of a leak. NOBODY! Then I removed the handle, put the pad on and then screwed the handle back on. Now it's running fast! Buy another one to replace the main bathroom cartridge.
