Aftermarket cartridges may not always work. Sometimes lower prices cost you more.

The color cartridges worked fine in my Brother MFC-J5920DW but I couldn't get the black cartridges to work properly in my printer. At first I thought it was my printer, but I found that the black ink cartridges weren't producing enough ink. When I installed the Brother cartridge that I bought from Staples, the printer worked fine. My purchase included 2 black cartridges, I opened and tried both but neither worked on my machine. Maybe it was just a stacking issue or a design issue, but neither worked.
