The material feels great to me. It's kind of thick, but also very light so it really helps minimize the appearance of my gut (in black anyhow). I normally wear an Under Armor XL, and the XL for this shirt fits well, but you might go a size bigger than an Under Armor shirt if you want it to fit the same as those.
