There's a trade-off between the "parked open " position and the possibility of damaging the wall: if you move far enough away to avoid damage from a strong impact, the open door will close harder than you'd like. So

They work fine but in the widest open position my door stays about 5 inches from the wall. Adjust far enough to avoid damage from a strong impact, then the open door will close more than you want. So think twice about rowdy kids using the door! The five small holes in the picture are available "stoppers" for positioning. A better design would be fittings with continuous grooves to ensure a secure "lock" in any position. Rubber bumpers are soft but effective.
