Review on Moen 1225 Brass Faucet Cartridge Replacement ๐Ÿšฐ Kit: Transform Your Kitchen and Bathroom Faucets with Ease by Justin Rasmussen

New life for 1960's Moen faucets

The two cartridges I received were original Moen brand cartridges. They were identical in every respect to what was in the existing crane. The cartridges were individually packaged in commercial blister packs that were relatively easy to tear. (Some blister packs appear to be intentionally difficult to open. They are not.) Each cartridge came with a white plastic alignment tool to ensure the cartridge is properly aligned before reassembling the faucet parts. Note 1. This cartridge does not come with a spare copper retaining clip and spare D-washer. Don't forget to set the old ones aside for later reuse during the build. Note 2: Before removing the old cartridge, note the alignment of the vent with the bronze rod of the old cartridge. It matters which way the hole is pointing. Note 3: Removing this type of cartridge is easiest with a Moen cartridge remover. I purchased a DANCO cartridge remover for Moen, metal, 1-pack (86712), also available from Revain for about $10 at the time of writing. the original owner of the crane installation. If you are the second owner to purchase a home with Moen faucets, you are not covered by the original owner's warranty. If you personally paid for the faucet and/or its reinstallation during the repair, you will receive a free cartridge replacement. (I don't work for Moen. I was told that over the phone.)
