I don't like puzzle boxes when I'm working. I've used drills before. I'm not 10 years old. Basically what I expected was what I received with no instructions or explanation except for the magnetic case which I have never used before. I couldn't tell exactly what it was from the Amazon picture, but I ordered anyway because I had a project and needed a better quality bit set than the HF. The first thing that makes me wonder is what this thing is and why they include what looks like a cut off screw and what that "pull" on the packaging means. The picture on the box doesn't make sense either. I spent over an hour trying to figure out what it is. Yes, I've heard from Google and YouTube. The problem is that Dewalt makes all kinds of versions of this and all kinds of different versions of this kit and it's not at all intuitive and not easy to work with. At least that's how it works for noobs like me with these magnetic cases. The sleeve is designed to hold the bit in place, with a screw attached to the other end. You can still use two hands, but you don't have to hold the screw and drill at the same time. At one end of the sleeve, it is magnetized so that the screw head is attached. At the other end, insert one of the flexible Torq bits. I don't know if I got a bad one or not, but I really have to twist and poke to get the bit in and out of the hub. In any case, when properly inserted, you should see the end of the bit protrude from the magnetic end. Attach a screw head to that end and voila. I hate the box too. When you close it, how do you know if it's raised or lowered, locked or unlocked? The sleeve and one of the bits do not have a retainer so will hang out and thereby fall out or require fumbling. The beats themselves look very good. I haven't had a chance to try them yet. Because it arrived late, I had to finish my project without them, which was difficult to manage with lousy beats. But these seem to be well made. I'll never use many of them though, so I'd like to see more #ph3 bits, for example, but that's always the case when you buy a set. So 0 stars for packaging and design and 5 stars for what looks good. bits.update: Strangely, since I've had them, they've become my favorite bits. I haven't had a single bug yet and in my opinion flex bits work and if you set the drill collar properly you have less chance of removing the screw. I just wish they had a wider range of bits compared to the number of bits in #2, but I'd probably complain if they came with a whole bunch of bits that I never use.
