EXCELLENT perch boat case (Tracker PT 175). I recommend but read the review.

This is my second such case. The first lasted 14 months before my trolling motor burned out while tightening the straps. So it sucks. But I found a solution to this and I suspect this case will take me longer. In general, the case is excellent and fairly waterproof. LIKE WHILE KEEPING / HOLDING THE TENSION (like in my photos). I highly recommend it for the price. Only the transportability I can not confirm. I rode it around town for short distances of 50-60 and it held up well. I will not take it on a trip where I spend 75 hours in 75 hours. It will probably hold up, but I don't want to risk it for the price and how well it works when seated. Excellent coverage but there are some flaws. But that's not such a big deal at the imo price point. I have a cover on my bass boat (Tracker Pro Team 175) which has a 54 inch trolling motor on the bow. The lid fits well but the trolling motor has sharp ends and eventually the lid broke after a little over a year. I've since added tennis balls to cover the TM's sharp points and I suspect this will prevent it from breaking as quickly. The lid comes with a 3-year warranty (according to Amazon), so hopefully it will last that long this time. My boat is just over 17 feet long and the length is almost perfect. leaves a small gap (shown in the photo) uncovered. NOW, with that being said. This is one of the few cases on Amazon where the outboard motor is off, which is a must for a boat like mine. A fair compromise for the price. I threw a tarp over the gap when remodeling my boat and it kept it dry. So there are cheap easy fixes if you NEED to cover it up. It's time to order this case to remind you). BUT DO NOT BUY BLACK if you live somewhere with lots of sun. It fades very quickly and you will see different shades towards the bottom edges of the cover (as you can see in the photos). Not a big deal and to fix the problem I just bought the gray one this time. And it's a decent color too, not just a boring grey. But I suspect this brand will tend to fade in sunnier climates, which given the price is an unimportant and fair compromise. My second complaint was a more isolated issue. The strap that connects the two rear ends (in the photo I'm pointing to the two points of the cover around the outboard motor) broke on me the first time I tried to use it on my old one. /first envelope. As he carries on this second. But again, no big deal as it doesn't really add much tension/help. SO. Long read but I hope this helps. I don't know how much other cases cost. But perch covers cost hundreds of dollars, around $500 and up for "good ones". I don't travel tones where I need a trailer cover like these heavy, expensive ones, just something to protect my boat when I'm out 365 days a year (I don't have a garage). This cover is perfect for that and I highly recommend using it to protect your boat when seated. If you keep the tension, everything stays dry. That is the point. A very good buy for your money. I'll make it clear if it annoys me. But I'm optimistic as the last one lasted over a year and I didn't take some of the precautions I'm taking now (tennis ball on sharp TM points).

Pros
  • Stable test results
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model
