This is a real laptop, which means you can run real software and do 'adult' things for the same price as a stripped down Chromebook. By default, Windows 10 is set to S mode, stripped down and tightly controlled like a Chromebook, but a few simple clicks and you've got Windows 10 Home and now you've got a real laptop for the price of a kid's version. The chassis feels great, doesn't flex like cheap plastic cases. The screen also has vibrant colors and clarity. The keyboard looks like a budget laptop and doesn't have a number pad which I need on my main laptops but I bought it for my daughter to use at school. She got a Chromebook but she can only use it for a few things - this REAL laptop allows her to do schoolwork in Google's school universe and then run MS Office and Skype with her. grandmothers and grandfathers. The performance of the Celeron processor isn't really impressive, but it can stream full screen videos and even run MS Office - just not as "fast" as a computer that costs twice as much, but interestingly most higher priced computers have cheap ones. longevity should outweigh the computing power of the bottom tier. We will take a small M2 SSD and install it soon. Cons: The power adapter plugs in on the left, and directly across from it on the right is the headphone jack, and the power jack fits in perfectly. in each of them - except that if you plug it in wrong, it obviously won't charge. If you are giving this to a child, they should be made aware of it. Second, WiFi is terrible compared to a more expensive computer. I have extremely high end, commercial grade Wi-Fi equipment in my house and this laptop is about 25% faster than the speeds I get with other laptops that aren't the latest technology either. It's fast enough to stream without any issues. but uploading large files will not be as good. I'll be looking for new drivers as the hardware *should* fare much, much better than when it comes to Wi-Fi speeds. On the other hand, it's fine for its intended purpose. If I hadn't tested it for speed I wouldn't know as I hacked it today while streaming lectures for hours. TLDR version: Not the fastest thing in the world, but a real computer for the price of an internet toy. . Ideal for a student. This is beyond my expectations, and as a retired IT professional who owns cutting-edge hardware and has bought literally thousands of business and government computers over the course of 25 years, I believe I am a fair judge.
