I have an iMac and it doesn't come with FireWire to transfer files from an old mini DV camcorder so I finally got this adapter, it works great with Thunderbolt 2 on my iMac, I use High Sierra on my iMac and have the latest update for my macOS. So far, the program has recognized and imported films from the camera without any problems. That's all I needed. So I am very satisfied with the product. A lot of people here have complained that this isn't working for them, I assume they were using a Thunderbolt 3 or USB C connection. This adapter will not work with Thunderbolt 3 or USB C because Apple has not approved it. I have a MacBook Pro that's unlucky because it only has USB-C ports, but at least I can use it in my iMac.
