Works great as a pre-filter for various home applications. Benefits: Supplied as a single sheet that can be cut to length. Good thickness that fits in the air conditioner filter bowl. I also have pre-filter places for a few air filters (GermGuardian AC4825, Honeywell HFD310 AirGenius4). I have also used for several other air conditioners and several other air filters. This appears to be the correct thickness for many of the pre-filter holes and carbon pads for the filter blocks. - Cons: I have used several carbon pads and most of the time the smell of the carbon pads accompanied each of them. Although it has a slight odor when first installed in the filter block. it doesn't seem to be as common as I'm used to. For me, the smell is usually almost a signal that the filter is doing its job. when it's not so overwhelming that you question such things.
