I've had a similar kit for years. Unfortunately, my wife gave me a project that required over ten pyramids, so I asked her to make sure I could complete the task. This product is very useful and I like it a lot more than the original set with the weak legs and curved stand that always bothered me. Their flat base is much better for weight distribution and I also find it more aesthetically pleasing. I've used them to support drawing and painting projects with successful results in both cases. While not required for most applications, the ability to screw them onto the board allows them to be safely configured to support important projects. The top edge of the pyramid is so small that it leaves no visible marks even with wet paint, making them perfect. In addition, they can be safely stowed away by stacking them and are very easy to clean. I removed the paint and stains from them with no problem, although this is an extra step that I'm sure is entirely unnecessary.
