Review on ๐Ÿ–จ๏ธ Doyolla 3D Printing Filament: Enhancing Dimensional Accuracy for Additive Manufacturing Products and Supplies by David Dober

Revainrating 3 out of 5

To act with caution. The coil is my complaint. Otherwise the thread is great.

GOOD filament prints very well and like all the other silk PLAs I've used leaves a nice smooth glossy finish on the prints. It flows very well and has almost no tension in my Ender 3 or Mega X. THE BAD - the filament spool has a "notch" on the inside which causes it to get stuck in my spool holder when printing. This "notch" is big enough that when my extruder got stuck it actually skipped steps and messed up the first 3 prints I tried with this Silk PLA. Luckily they were small and easy to reboot. The problem was evident upon viewing the entire printout and was resolved by rewinding the filament onto a different spool for 30 minutes. CONCLUSION. I think the thread is worth the price. However, expect to spend a little time rewinding it to another reel. Depending on your printer settings, this might not be a problem at all. When I have more time and inclination I might print a piece to fill that gap to see if I can solve the problem that way. Not that I would spend time rewinding film on this pool, but I would buy this filament again and would like a solution that didn't require me to reuse the spool.

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • No productivity
