Review on Equipex FC 26 Quarter Size Electric Convection by Susan Loera

Revainrating 5 out of 5

worth $$$! in small appliances

After buying three home use convection ovens (two Delonghi ovens and one more) for about 7 years and throwing them away in disgust and spending nearly $200 on each, I decided to Upgrading to a true commercial Sodir 1/4 size convection oven. It's made in France (not China, thanks) and built like a tank. These ovens can be seen in supermarkets to prepare prepared samples for customers, so they are used daily and for a long time and need to be built to withstand harsh conditions. Keep in mind that this is all mechanical. The timer is ticking, with a mechanical dial, and there is only one additional knob for the temperature. No light (no problem! I have a bright flashlight nearby) and open coils. The fan is powerful and circulates the air well. I've been using mine almost every night for the past 6 years and it works like a charm. There's no roasting function, but the oven heats up to 475F and quickly browns food. It is excellent for baking or cooking. I haven't roasted since I bought this oven. Very easy to clean as there are no coils in the way. The fan and heating elements are located behind the ventilation opening on the back. Be sure to cover the vents with plastic (cold oven cleaning) before spraying the oven cleaner. You will not find the Sodir brand in a department store. It really is meant and built for commercial use!

Pros
  • Rear fan and heater produce true convection cooking
Cons
  • Appearance
