Hard coating and only one string hole. I can understand why they made a hard coating to repel sweat, stains and whatnot and keep it in shape, but some people wear it under their clothes, it makes the skin hard. It also has only one hole through which you can hang a cord that goes around your neck. This has its advantages, but for the user who likes the blade always at the front, I used a leather punch to add two more holes and threaded the cord through those two, giving me a solid front of the blade when carrying it. Overall, I'm very impressed with the workmanship of the scabbard and blade. I would buy this again.
