I used this cutter to create a 6' x 5' center piece from 30 complicated quilt squares. 1 blade change so far. A small rug is not enough for a project. Pens are dull/garbage. But the tailor is good. Given that even Joanne's cheapest/retail price is higher for just the cutter with no extra blades or attachments, this is a good deal for just the cutter and replacement blades. The bag is designed to hold the attachments for the section you are working on. And the little mat is very thick/high quality and fits right in front of the sewing machine to cut bits while sewing. A small rug is helpful.
