It's very easy to understand for newbies as well as advanced user alike; it has almost all features one would need in an analytical toolkit (i.e., text analysis/segmentation).
The interface could be improved by having more intuitive controls such as drag-and-drop functionality or better color coding of different fields like "content" vs. metadata etc.; however this can also be said about many other tools out there so I don't have much else here! If you're looking at getting into content analytics but are not sure what your needs will look like then try using free trial versions first - they give good info on how things work. We use Transana primarily for analyzing customer service calls where we want to find areas with high volume complaints across our client base.
