Review on Aideepen Development ESP8266 External Connector by Darrell Shreves

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Sweeteet.: Network Transceiver

The only problem is that you have to do a little digging to get it working. The connection requires a special driver and requires a reboot! In my case twice since installation. uses the same COM port as my modem. That being said I wish I had seen them before, it would have saved a lot of time dealing with different screens etc. Uploaded the NeoPixel sketch and again no problem. I noticed that it starts to boil when plugged into external power and a USB connection. Update: This can happen if power is not properly applied to 3.3V (use 5V/Gnd to connect an external power supply, not 3.3V!). The board comes with 3 sets of headers that you can either solder on or just plug directly into the board. A plus is that once placed, you can toss the headers onto a breadboard - it's small enough to accommodate wires on either side
