We needed a garage fire alarm because we now have an electric car charger. The garage is dusty so we have a heat detector that goes off at 135F. Not being electricians, we had no intention of installing this thing. But it was easy to plug in a three-wire cord and plug that was cut from an old device and kept. We simply twisted the matching wires into orange nuts and then taped them in place for security. We could then simply plug the device into the ceiling outlet in the garage. The hardest part was screwing in the screws that would hold the detector!
