Mainly purchased for my rarer plants who love humidity.Before I was using a Vicks cool mist, which worked ok, but didn't have a humidity thermostat, an auto on/off, wasn't powerful enough for my 350sq ft room, and had to be refilled daily which got to be a chore.This is definitely an upgrade well worth it.Yes there are other comparable humidifiers for less (like $60-100) BUT I have limited space, this takes up less counter space than those ones, holds more water (I refill it like 1x every 3-4 days), and quite frankly its cuter.Note- if you're like me and trying to create a humid environment for plants, it takes a couple days to build up the overall humidity. First couple days it was between 30%-45% then on the 4th or 5th day the humidity hit 55% (my goal).
