My 1 year old wears a 5.5 so I bought him 6 and they fit perfectly. A bit uncomfortable/difficult to put the shoes on, but once I put his foot in, his toes still had room to wiggle and he walked/walked in them just fine. My three year old hardly ever wears an eight, I thought the nine might be too big. So I have 8 and it's low. The boot went on, but he complained that it hurt, and sure enough his fingers touched the end. Nice shoes for the price. Really soft.
