If you need to use more than a week to prevent DVT after surgery, this may not be for you. The material is more durable than the cheap ones that hospitals overcompensate for. It lasted about a week, then the compression above the knee went away. They will not stand on their hips to provide protection. You give your arms a job by constantly pulling them up. I ended up having to buy from a local medical supply store because they arrived much later than expected. Knee socks can be used for support but I have little confidence that they will prevent post-op complications above the knee.
