Usually when I go camping over a long weekend (burns etc) I use dry ice on the bottom of the fridge, as a cushion layer (cardboard), then ice, then food. At an event I last attended (in October) I usually drink more hot drinks than cold so the ice usually goes to waste. And I still take plenty of drinking water with me. So I got the idea to buy these bubbles to use in place of ice. I filled them up to the 2 liter mark and put them in the freezer. They worked *exactly* as I had hoped. 2 or 3 of them occupied the same space as my ice cream and when it melted I had drinking water. So two birds, one platypus :) Edited after 3 years: These things are *still* strong. I use them every time I go camping, to conventions, etc. I think it's a great purchase.
