They really clean my teeth to the point of being silky smooth, although I haven't used any pastes or other cleansers except a little baking soda in water. I brush gently when I touch the gums and maybe a little harder on the teeth for a minute or two, then rinse my mouth out and then brush and then dip the brush in the baking soda water and brush my teeth again. The spaced bristles allow me to remove any food debris stuck in the bristles. I only wish the brushes were white or lighter because then I could see better if there were any unwanted food debris and it would be easier to clean them.
